Arianna Shekhani
Hi there, I’m Arianna (she/her)!
I am a senior pursuing a BFA in Communication Design with minors in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Art History at Washington University in St. Louis, in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts.
I’m fascinated by the intersection of research and design. A large part of my process involves diving into rabbit holes and uncovering insights and niches that inform the visual storytelling arc each project takes. I am interested in branding systems, research, typography, and art direction.
When I’m not working in an InDesign file, you can find me taking long walks in the park, obsessing over sunsets, and experimenting with nail art!

DESCRIPTION
During my internship, I worked across a wide range of branding and communication projects, contributing to identity systems, visual language development, and campaign collateral for a wide range of clients across healthcare, transportation, workforce and education. I supported large-scale rebranding initiatives for Houston Community College (HCC) and Texas Southern University (TSU), helping refine visual systems and extend them across applications, including TSU’s centennial celebration branding as well as branding for their Tiger Chats program. I also collaborated on workforce and public service projects, creating collateral for Gulf Coast Workforce Solutions and assisting with project management and design for the Texas Department of State Health Services, across a range of appllications like YouTube thumbnails, brochures, digital booklets, etc. Alongside these efforts, I led pro bono branding, web design, and copy writing work for Mindful Being Houston, shaping a visual identity and digital presence that aligned with their mission of community wellness.
Across all projects, I focused on translating strategic goals into accessible design while navigating feedback cycles, team collaboration, and quick turnarounds. Throughout these projects, I developed a strong set of skills that continue to shape my design practice. Collaborating with strategists, developers, copywriters, and account teams strengthened my communication and reinforced the importance of asking clear questions, sharing process early, and adapting to shifting project needs. Working across multiple campaigns at once pushed me to be detail-oriented and organized, balancing creative exploration with practical constraints and tight timelines. I became more confident in presenting work, articulating design decisions, and translating feedback into actionable next steps. These experiences deepened not only my technical abilities, but also my capacity to work thoughtfully, collaboratively, and with intention across complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
